Epidemiology Unmasked: An Introduction to Epidemiology in Public Health
Project type: educational advocacy
June 2020 - Present
As a firsthand witness to the misinformation and lack of personal health responsibility that spread along with the virus during the COVID-19 pandemic, I came to realize how underrepresented the field of epidemiology is in the student curriculum. The most popular current epidemiology textbooks are difficult to digest for the first-time reader who does not have a strong foundation in biostatistics or medicine. My book is aimed for introductory readers to spread accurate information about the spread of diseases in populations to prevent these catastrophic episodes in future epidemics.
My story has been recognized by 10+ media outlets and Congressman Pete Olson, who presented me with the Congressional Certificate of Special Recognition on behalf of the US House of Representatives for outstanding service to the community.

Kid Teach Kid
Project type: educational advocacy
March 2020 - Present
Kid Teach Kid is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization aimed toward providing free, accessible, high-quality courses to students taught by their peers. Kid Teach Kid is a proud recipient of the Google Grants Award for outstanding nonprofits that provides $10k per month in funding. Currently, we have over 1300 enrolled students and 15 courses in our library. As the President of Education, I oversee the planning of coursework, initiatives, and outreach.
Initiatives:
FlashMath class series: I also co-founded and organized this six-week contest math bootcamp with 400+ participants that delivered free weekly online math classes to elementary and middle school students in the subjects of algebra, geometry, combinatorics, and number theory. This class series culminated in a fundraiser that simultaneously delivered test-taking tips to students and $725 and over 600 surgical masks to front-line COVID-19 health workers.
KTK Virtual Summer Camp: I organized this free 4-week summer camp that had over 1,000 signups from across the country and offered 12 different courses in both STEM and the humanities.
FlashMath Contest: I coordinated the first annual math contest that had around 100 attendees. I helped write problems and engage in outreach.
Initatives coming soon: KTK hackathon, global network program connecting kids from different countries, chapter formation
